SkipWatch

Strange things sometimes happen to unattended skips. Apart from the odd scavenger, people seem to find a variety of weird and wonderful uses for the humble skip.

Now you can witness some of these odd events courtesy of Mick George's 'Skipwatch' website (www.skipwatch.tv). You can view the skip cams showing the 'Great Yellow-bellied Mick George Skips' in their natural environment and witness what people get up to with Mick George's skips.

The Great Yellow-bellied Mick George Skip

One of television’s best-loved nature presenters, Michaela Strachan, is the voice behind Mick George Limited's radio advertising campaign. In the series of ads Michaela observes a species of the 'Great Yellow-bellied Mick George Skip' that is 'easily identifiable by its glossy yellow coat and unique markings' and which is considered to be 'nature's dustbin'. The creature is described in further ads as being 'capable of consuming many times its own body weight'.

The theme of the campaign, which promotes Mick George’s skip hire, is 'nature's dustbin' and is designed to draw people's attention to the environmental approach the company adopts in dealing with the many tonnes of waste it collects. The campaign's serious message is aimed at increasing environmental awareness and demonstrates the large proportion of waste that Mick George Limited successfully recycles.

The ads can be regularly heard on Heart FM.
