The Internationally recognised Standard identifies the Environmental Management System (EMS) and procedures adopted by the Company in order to measure and document their environmental impact. The Company must ensure that it continually meets the ISO 14001 standards which are regularly audited and certified by external accredited Certification Bodies.

 

The object of the standard is to minimize how a company's operations impact on the environment. One of the major objectives is to promote more effective and efficient environmental management within Company's and ensure useful, practical tools which reflect best organisational practices for gathering, interpreting and communicating environmentally relevant information.

 

The updated systematic ISO 14001:2004 approach requires Company's to continually review all of its activities for environmental impact, which will ultimately reduce waste management costs and provide savings in consumption of energy and materials, reduced distribution costs, improved corporate image among regulators, customers and the general public, and provide a framework for continual improvement of environmental performance.

 

Part of the criteria required to achieve the certification is to have a specific environmental policy statement together with detailed polices and procedures on such areas as training and environmental awareness, comprehensive  procedures on dealing with waste, monitoring the environment, storage and use of energy and how we can reduce consumption, purchasing of materials and plant from an environmental viewpoint and how we ensure we maintain our fleet of vehicles and plant to ensure they work at best efficiency .
