Manchester mediacity:uk

Mediacity:uk is the UK's first purposebuilt media city and will cover 200 acres of former dockland at Salford Quays. It is to be the new home for a number of currently London-based BBC departments. Mick George’s input into this project includes:

  • Providing a site clearance of hazardous materials from a derelict site
  • Removing concrete slab and crushed to customers specification for reuse on site
  • Digging up old Victorian landfill and screening the waste from the soil to reduce the amount of landfill
  • Retesting soils to show suitability for reuse on site
  • Laying of temporary car parks
  • Constructing a piling mat
