Land Remediation at Historic Westcott Venture Park Site
Suspected asbestos debris was uncovered including board, sheet and loose insulation material when preliminary ground clearance and investigation works began on the new Shanks Anaerobic Digestion Plant to be built at the north end of the new Westcott Venture Park. Birse Civils called in specialists Mick George Ltd to help determine the most appropriate options for disposal and to carry out the remediation work required. A full remediation strategy for the job was produced by consulting engineers MLM and approved by the Environment Agency. Mick George Ltd was responsible for implementing the programme and worked in association with Rilmac Insulation to provide:-
- Removal of asbestos impacted materials
- Land remediation solutions on site
- Excavation and earthworks services
- Land restoration to specified levels
